Ha Long Bay Helicopter Tour

Today, you can explore Ha Long Bay by going on a helicopter tour.
Ha Long Bay is the jewel in Vietnam’s tourism crown, a stunning geological formation that captivates even the most travel weary and jaded of visitors.
Most people usually take a cruise around the bay. You can choose one or two night trips to enjoy the mesmerizing scenery and discover wonderful coves and islets or simply enjoy the views from the top deck of your boat.

As a repeat visitor I wouldn’t say I’m tired of Ha Long, but I was certainly eager to discover another side of the UNESCO World Heritage Site when a friend told me about the Luxury Travel Company’s helicopter tour.

This would be a great opportunity to fly over the bay and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the limestone karst islets which, according to legend are the shards of diamond and jade, that were spat out by a family of dragons sent from heaven to help protect Vietnam from foreign invaders.

I was so excited at the prospect of climbing into a helicopter, I could hardly sleep the night before. But as the morning drew closer I started to get increasingly nervous. What if, I am scared of heights? Having never scaled any cliff faces, or jumped out of an airplane, how would I know?

Ha Long Bay is certainly spectacular from the helicopter – it’s as perfect as a painting: the white sandy coves, the thick green forest, the rugged mountains and the jagged karsts jutting out of the emerald water.

"Free & Easy" Tour in Vietnam

"Free & Easy" tour service which arranges air travel tickets and hotel bookings without tour itineraries and tour guides is gaining popularity in Vietnam due to escalating prices in domestic travel.

Local tour operators offer cheap deals in a bid to maintain domestic customers, though the popularity of the ‘Free & Easy’ service has made many tourism agencies unhappy in recent time.

The number of people registering for ‘Free & Easy’ tours increased sharply this year. By choosing ‘Free & Easy’ tours people can meet their tightened budget but tour companies have seen a reduction on package tours this year.

Pham Duc Hoa, deputy head of the Domestic Travel Department of Saigon Tourist, said that the number of people registering for package tours has dropped considerably; hence, the company has been compelled to promote ‘Free & Easy’ tours.

During the recent four-day long holiday, the number of people registering for ‘Free & Easy’ tours was about 25-30%.

Now not just tourist agencies but also airlines seem to exploit this service for domestic and foreign destination travellers.

Hoa believes that the widespread popularity of this service will surely affect businesses and sales in tourist agencies.

Package tours were always the best choice for the elderly, but ‘Free & Easy’ tours are very popular with the young who need not depend on tour schedules and can afford a reasonable rate.

Hoa thinks that single tourists or those wanting to travel in small groups are more interested in this service because they can arrange more personalized tours. Customers can call the company to ask for ‘Free & Easy’ service and book air tickets or hotel rooms and plan their vacation as per these bookings.

The new Boeing 777 took off on January 4 for the first time from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The latest version of the Boeing 777-300ER seats up to 383 passengers, in a 3-cabin configuration, which includes 42 seats in business class, 24 seats in the premium Voyageur class and 317 seats in the Voyageur class.

Air France’s first aircraft is equipped with the new Business Class seats. It also offers other innovations, including an inflight entertainment system (IFE), which was developed exclusively for Air France, and new bar areas in each cabin.

“With the deployment of this new aircraft, which offers further improvement and in-flight product, Air France aims to bolster its position in Vietnam. This is a further step forward in our development strategy, following the agreement, signed with Vietnam Airlines last July and the launch a non-stop service in November,” said Thierry Beragnes, Country Manager Vietnam Air France KLM.

Air France flies non-stop between Ho Chi Minh City and Paris five times a week at the end of 2010, with three flights by Air France Boeing 777-300ER and two flights operated by Vietnam Airlines.

In addition, under the terms of the company’s code-share agreement with Vietnam Airlines, Air France now offers its customers a non-stop flight from Hanoi to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport five times a week.

5 Richest South East Asia Cities

About 60% of the world's population lives in Asia, where there are huge differences in Gross National Product both by country and per capita.

For cities in the OECD, data are based on city-level GDP per capita estimates on 2002 data from the OECD’s Competitive Cities report (2006), projected forward by PricewaterhouseCoopers to 2008.

For non-OECD cities, data are not readily available from a single source. In some cases GDP per capita estimates at city level were available from national sources, but in many cases PricewaterhouseCoopers was only able to make approximate estimates based on plausible ratios of city-to-national GDP per capita.

As such, the 2008 urban agglomeration GDP estimates should only be taken as broadly indicative of relative economic size of these cities in both OECD and non-OECD countries, as through PricewaterhouseCooper's methods only. Other surveys and methodologies, such as surveys from national governments, the UN, or other private companies were not taken into account when this list was compiled.

The list of the richest cities in South East Asia by GDP according to PricewaterhouseCoopers and other sources are:

Please watch the video to find out

As show on video here are 5 richest South East Asia Cities:

1.Singapore
2.Metro Manila
3.Jakata City
4.Bangkok City
5.Ho Chi Minh City
